Sports

In a sports-mad country like New Zealand, sports people can play an influential role in promoting a culture of non violence.

Numerous sports clubs have approached us asking to be part of the campaign and we now work with some terrific teams. It's a great opportunity to get the family violence message out to a wider audience, to get role models talking to younger players and to build a community of support that says no to family violence.

Sports people we have worked with include the Breakers Basketball, Poverty Bay Rugby Union, the Pulse netball team and a tournament of young rugby league players in Porirua. Individuals like Rugby League legend Ruben Wiki are also part of the campaign effort. Maybe your club can get involved.
